A domain name is the unique web address, that a website or web page can be accessed on.
Every website is hosted on a web server, which in turn has its own IP address. An IP address might look like 192.126.40.00 – not very memorable! Using a domain name means that visitors don’t need to remember a whole bunch of numbers, and can instead use a simple domain, such as “LCN.com”, to access a website.
