History of LCN – the short version
One of the things that really bothered us in those days was the lack of quality hosting and domain name providers around to house our clients’ websites. Tired of expensive domain prices and servers with flaky uptime, we decided the best way to fix the problem was to do it ourselves, so LCN.com was born!
Since then we’ve gone from strength to strength and are proud to be one of the biggest organically grown web hosts and registrars in the UK. In fact, many of the small team from the beginning are still here, all these years later.
Helping small businesses get online is at the heart of everything we do here at LCN. Our goal is to cut the jargon and make creating and publishing a website a realistic prospect for everyone. We don’t think you should have to rely on a third-party designer just to have an online presence.
But getting your site online is only half the battle – the other challenge is making it a success! We give you a hand with this too, with hundreds of resources to help you reach the right audience including guides on SEO, Facebook for businesses, and Twitter Marketing – all thrown in for free.

Nick De Monte Technical Director
Another one that’s been with the company since our humble beginnings, Nick has seen it all. Coming from a design and UX background he knows what’s what. He’s in charge of our R&D and engineering teams and works on new products and features – nothing at LCN goes live without getting past Nick’s keen eye.
Barry Fenning Marketing Director
Barry joined the team in 2008 when we poached him from some company called Google. He’s a self-confessed workaholic, so as well as marketing LCN products and services he also makes sure we keep our customers at the forefront of everything we do.
Dan Sampson Customer Support Manager
This is the man responsible for moulding new recruits into tech support super-soldiers. Our support team deal with hundreds of calls and tickets every day, and Dan ensures every single customer query is answered to the very best of our ability.
Baxter Mascot / Junior Vice President
Baxter is Mark’s dog and the official company mascot. He spends his days patrolling the office, greeting visitors and generally getting all the attention a dog could ever dream of. Fun fact: He’s always on the hunt for bananas.
