How do I get the migration started?
Once you've bought a hosting package with us (or if already have one), simply click on the hosting in your LCN account, and look for the “Request site migration” link. Simply click on this link and fill in the short form with some details to help start the process. Check out this video below for a quick run-through…
How long will the migration take?
Once you’ve submitted all the relevant information from the “Request site migration” page in your LCN account, we aim to complete your migration within 48 hours (unless you have requested a particular date).
When will you do the migration? What about downtime?
Your migration can be performed at any time within our support desk opening hours, which are as follows – Monday to Friday 08:00 to 22:00hrs, and Saturday to Sunday 09:00 and 17:30hrs.
In the majority of cases we can complete the migration without any downtime - as long as your old hosting provide continues to keep your site online during the migration process.
Once we have uploaded your site and tested it internally, we point your domain name to our servers and hey presto, migration complete!
Can you migrate my email accounts?
Unfortunately not. Due to the sheer number of different email platforms available, we can’t guarantee that we can migrate your email accounts over successfully. We would recommend re-creating your email addresses through our control panel - our support team can then help you get them set up on your devices.
What information do I need to provide?
We’ll need things like your domain name, current hosting provider name, as well as usernames and passwords. Don’t worry – any sensitive information you give to us is in the strictest confidence and your data and passwords are never shared, or kept on record. We’ll let you know what information we need when you fill out the migration request form.
What hosting providers do you migrate from?
Pretty much all of them. Our migration experts are familiar with most hosting providers out there. Even if you’re moving from a host we haven’t heard of, you can bet our team will have no problems moving your site across.
Can you migrate more than one site for me?
This depends on what hosting packages you have. Most of our hosting packages allow for 1 website only, in which case we can offer you a single migration. However, our WordPress Professional and Multisite packages can host 3 and 10 websites respectively – so we can handle 3 or 10 migrations.
What if I change my mind, or you cannot accommodate my site?
If you change your mind or we can’t accommodate your site then you will be refunded in full! You also have a 30 day money back guarantee on our hosting packages, so if you’re not happy for whatever reason after moving your site to us, we will refund you in full should you choose to leave.
