How to transfer your domain name to us

This guide will explain how to transfer your domain name to LCN.com. Moving your domain is simple and by transferring it to us you'll get great service, free features and competitive prices! The transfer process varies depending on the type of domain you trying to move, however we’ve got you covered. Please note: When transferring your domain to LCN.com we’ll keep your nameservers the same. If you’re moving your website and email services to us, you may need to update these using this guide. We’ve done the hard work for you and provided multiple step by step guides below for the leading domain name providers: Transferring your domain from 1and1 to LCN.com Transferring your domain from Fasthosts to LCN.com Transferring your domain from GoDaddy to LCN.com Let’s get started... Transferring UK domains (.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .uk) to LCN.com Go to the domain transfers page. Enter your domain in the Domain name field and click CONTINUE. If your domain is more than one month from its expiry date the transfer is free. If not, you have the option to renew for a year which you can pay for whilst setting up the transfer. If you’re an existing customer login to your LCN.com account, otherwise create a new account. Once the transfer has been set up, you’ll need to instruct your current registrar to change your domain’s IPS tag. This needs to be changed to LCN. Note: The speed of the transfer relies on how quickly your current registrar releases your domain. This normally completes within 24 hours. Transferring all other domains (.com, .net, .info, etc...) to LCN.com Before starting the transfer process, you’ll need to do the following: Make sure you have access to the email address for the registered owner of the domain. If you’re unsure what this is, you can check using this whois lookup tool Check WHOIS for: Ask your current domain provider to unlock the domain and provide you with the domain’s Authorisation Code (also known as an EPP Code) Once this is done you can proceed with the transfer, using the instructions below: Go to the domain transfers page. Enter your domain in the Domain name field and click CONTINUE. In the Authcode field enter the authorisation code (also known as an EPP code) you received from your current registrar. Click Continue and the domain transfer will be added to your basket. The cost includes a one year extension to your domain’s expiry date. If you’re an existing customer login to your LCN.com account, otherwise create a new account. Once the transfer has been initiated, we’ll send an email to the registrant and admin email address asking for the transfer to be authorised. Once authorised, the transfer will take five days to complete. If the transfer isn’t authorised, it’ll time out after seven days and the process will need to be re-started. Let’s get started… Transferring UK domains (.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .uk) Log in to your LCN.com account. Click the Domains icon and select Manage next to the domain you want to transfer. Click Transfer Away in the Current Domain menu on the left. Click the CONTINUE WITH TRANSFER button. In the IPS Tag field enter the IPS Tag of the new registrar. In the Reason for unlocking / transferring field let us know why you are going. Click Release Domain and allow up to 24hrs for the changes to take effect. Your browser does not support the video tag. Transferring all other domains (.com, .net, .info, etc...) If your domain name is: Less than 60 days old Has been transferred to us within the last 60 days Has had the registrant change lock enabled you won’t be able to transfer the domain. For more details see the ICANN Transfer Policy. Before you start the transfer, make sure you have access to the email address for the registered owner of your domain. If you’re unsure what this is, you can check using this whois lookup tool: Check WHOIS for: Once this is done you can proceed with the transfer, using the instructions below: Log in to your LCN.com account. Transferring UK domains (.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .uk) to LCN.com Transferring all other domains (.com, .net, .info, etc...) to LCN.com Lets get started… Transferring UK domains (.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .uk) from 1and1 to LCN.com Navigate to http://contract.1and1.co.uk Log in using your Account number and Password. Choose the contract which contains the domains. Select whether you want to Cancel Entire Contract or Cancel Selected Domains. Choose the Execute On option for the domain you’d like to transfer. Change the cancellation option to Change Provider. Click Continue. Enter our IPS tag: LCN Click Finish.
