How to Transfer a Domain Name to LCN
This guide will help to show you how to transfer a Domain Name to us from another provider.
For this guide, you will need to log into your Online Control Panel as the main account holder. If you require help getting into your Control Panel, follow this guide here.
.UK Domain Names
If you are transferring a .co.uk domain to us, then this involves a change in the Nominet Tag. This needs to be requested before starting the transfer into us.
You can either change it directly with Nominet, or you can request this change with your current Domain Hosting provider.
The Nominet Tag you would change it to is LCN.
Once you have requested to change the Nominet Tag, you will want to then go into the control panel. Skip to ‘Submitting the Transfer Request’ section.
.com, .net, .org Domain Names (GTLD)
These domains require an Authorisation Code, which is done by requesting a Transfer Away from your Current Provider.
Once you have submitted the request, they will give you the Authorisation Code which you will then give to us via the Online Control Panel.
Once you have the Authorisation Code, skip to ‘Submitting the transfer Request’.
Submitting the Transfer Request
Now you will be submitting a request to have the Domain Name transferred into your account.
Hover your mouse over the Services tab, and select Domains & Services from the drop-down menu.
Then select Add Domain.
Next, look for the heading Transfer Domain Name to us, and select Click here to begin the transfer process.
You will see all the options presented in front of you, and you will select the option which relates to you.
Follow the process of your chosen domain name, and your request will be sorted.
Note: You may be required to make a payment for the transfer of a Domain Name. Double check when you are going through the transfer process.
