Webmail is a free service that we offer to all customers on our latest hosting platform to access their email, anywhere in the world! We've created an FAQ which covers some of the features offered by Webmail and this should help you get the most out of the service. Please be advised that our Webmail service is only available to customers on our Quantum platform. If you are currently on an older hosting package and would like to upgrade to Quantum free of charge, you can call us on 01438 342 490 and we process this for you. How to change the Webmail interface skin How do I import/Export my email addresses in my address book? My mailbox is showing full, but I don't have any visible mails I want to clear my mailbox when I log out, is this possible? How do I import/Export my email addresses in my address book? Email software normally comes with the option of creating an address book of all your regular contacts and Webmail is no different. Below is a guide on both importing and exporting contacts through Webmail. How to Import Contacts First you need to log in to Webmail using your email address and password. You can do this by clicking the link below: http://webmail.lcn.com Once logged in, select the Address Book option, which is located on the top left of the page. To import your contacts, click the import option and then select the Choose Files option. Once you have located your file, click the Import button. We currently support importing addresses from the vCard format or CVS (comma-separated format. Please ensure that your contacts are in this format, otherwise the import will fail. If this has successfully imported, you will get a message telling you this as well as a list of the contacts that have been imported. The contacts will now be listed in your address book within Webmail. How To Export Contacts First you need to log in to Webmail using your email address and password. You can do this by clicking the link below: http://webmail.lcn.com Once logged in, select the Address Book option, which is located on the top left of the page. Simply select the Export option and this will prompt a download to your local computer. The file will be in a vCard format (.vcf) and this can be used on another Webmail mailbox, or another email program that uses the vCard formatting. My mailbox is showing full, but I don't have any visible mails You may find that even after deleting messages from your folders, your mailbox may still show as being full. This is normally narrowed down to either the folders needing to be compacted (removes all messages that are pending delete), or that there are hidden folders with messages in which are not displaying by default. How to Compact a folder First you need to log in to Webmail using your email address and password. You can do this by clicking the link below: http://webmail.lcn.com When logged in, select a folder (selected folders will be highlighted in pink) and then select the gear icon in the bottom left corner. You will then see an option to compact the folder and clicking this will delete any messages in that folder which are currently pending deletion. Repeat this across all your folders and this will clear any space held by messages which are pending deletion. If you are unsure on how to fully delete emails from Webmail, please check out guide below for step by step instructions: Deleting your emails on LCN Webmail How to show flagged for deletion emails in Webmail Certain email programs will flag the email for deletion instead of completly deleting. This can cause storage issues if you can't see the flagged messages in Webmail to delete them. First you need in to Webmail, using your email address and password. You can do this using the link below: http://webmail.lcn.com Next select Settings and then choose the Server Settings option. You see options on the right hand side and you need to now untick the Do not show deleted messages option. If you go back to your emails, you should now see all your emails alongside any that have been flagged for deletion. How to show ALL mailbox folders First you need in to Webmail, using your email address and password. You can do this using the link below: http://webmail.lcn.com You then need to click the gear icon in the bottom left corner and choose the Manage folders option You can now see all the folders that have been created for your mailbox and you simply need to place a tick in the Subscribed box next to the folder you wish to view. Now when viewing your mailbox, you should see all the folders you have created in the list alongside the default folders. I want to clear my mailbox when I log out, is this possible? When you delete any email, Webmail itself places the mail into 'Deleted Items'. You then need to delete it from here, but you can save yourself time by asking Webmail to clear this folder when you log out. First you need in to Webmail, using your email address and password. You can do this using the link below: http://webmail.lcn.com Next select Settings and then choose the Server Settings option. From here, there are a lot of deleting options you can set on the server, but to delete messages from your trash folder when you log out, tick the Clear Trash on logout option and select Save. Next time you log out, this will delete all the mails held in the deleted items folder. For this to function correctly, please make sure you are clicking log out and not simply closing the browser down.
Adding a signature to your email address on our new Webmail platform is straight forward and easy to do. Even adding an image for that extra professional look is quite simple. First you need to log on to your mailbox via our Webmail service which is found at http://webmail.lcn.com. You then need to choose the Settings option which is located on the top left of the page. From the 3 options under the Settings header, choose Identities and then choose your email address. If it is just a plain text signature you are looking to create, simply add the text you would like to use and then choose the save option. If you are looking to add an image, you will need to create this in HTML. Ticking the HTML signature option which will open more features for you to use for editing. You now need to click the Source-Code icon which will open a pop up window with the current signature in HTML format. You can now add the link to your image here. If you have not yet uploaded the image to your hosting package, follow the steps on how to do this on our How to upload files to your website with FTP guide. Once you have uploaded the image and have made a note of the location, you would need to copy the code below and paste it in to the HTML editor, changing imageurl to the location of your chosen image. Our example signature with an image added using HTML looks like this: LCN.COM Ltd Units H, J, K Gateway 1000 Whittle Way Stevenage When you are happy with how your signature is displayed, click the green Update button and then select Save. Please Note: If you have set up a HTML signature, you will need to ensure that your default mail type is HTML too. To check this, select Settings > Preferences > Composing Messages and ensure that Compose HTML messages is set to always. Then scroll down and click save.
The LCN Webmail system has been optimised for mobile devices – the following guide should explain how to access and manage your email accounts from a mobile or tablet device. You can log in to Webmail from the same page as normal: http://webmail.lcn.com The inbox for your account will then be displayed by default. A row of icons is provided for navigating the Webmail system – the function of each menu icon is explained below. To open the settings menu for Webmail select the following icon: To change folders within your account, select the following icon: To compose a new message, select the following icon: To view message options (for forwarding/replying/marking/deleting) select the following icon: To filter or search the list of messages, select the following icon: Viewing Messages When you log in to Webmail, the inbox for your account will be displayed by default. Selecting on a message will open a new page displaying the message contents. If you swipe a message to the left – 3 options will be provided to manage the message, flag the message, or delete the message: Composing Messages To send email, you will need to select to reply to or forward an existing message, or select the compose icon to create a new message: The following screen will then be displayed: You can enter the ‘to’ address, the subject and the message content in the fields provided. To send the message, select the following icon: You can add contacts from your address book using the following icon: You can access additional options including: Add CC, Add Bcc, Add Reply-to, Read-receipt – by selecting the following icon: The following icon can be selected to add an attachment, save the message to drafts, send, spell-check or cancel sending:
You can change the interface style for Webmail - this will provide different options for the layout and style of the Webmail interface for managing your mail account online. Let’s get started… You will first need to add a domain account within the WHM control panel and create an email address within cPanel for the domain. Accessing webmail Login to your cPanel and search of the ‘List Accounts’ function. Click on the cPanel logo to the right hand side of your domain name. Look for the ‘Email’ heading within cPanel and select ‘Email Accounts’. Email accounts for your domain will then be listed and if you scroll to the bottom of this page you will see an option to ‘Access Webmail’. This will then take you through to the Webmail login screen. Alternatively, you can go directly to the Webmail login page by adding /webmail/ to the end of your domain – for example: http://yourdomain.com/webmail Log in to Webmail by entering the full email address as the username and entering the mailbox password.
