It's great to be able to access your email on the move. This guide shows you how to set up your iPhone to send and receive email using your LCN email account. As the iPad also uses the same Apple iOS (the iPhone software), this guide also applies to this.

Please make sure that you have the email address for the mailbox you are looking to set up as well as the password. If you are unsure of any of these details they can be found in your LCN account under the email addresses icon.

This procedure may vary slightly depending on what version of IOS you're using. This guide was made using IOS 6.1.

  1. Tap the Settings icon on your dashboard.
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Tap Add Account.
  4. Tap Other.
  5. Choose Add Mail Account.
  6. Enter your full name, your email address, your password and a brief description of the account to help you find it later.
  7. Tap the Next button at the top right of your screen. Your iPhone will then try and determine as many settings as it can for you before loading the next page.
  8. Ensure that IMAP is selected (highlighted in blue).
  9. Under Incoming Mail Server you will see Host Name, enter mail.lcn.com here
  10. In the User Name field enter your full email address.
  11. In the Password field enter the password for that email address.
  12. Scroll down to the Outgoing Mail Server and under Host Name enter mail.lcn.com.
  13. In the User Name field enter your full email address.
  14. In the Password field enter the password for that email address.
  15. Click the blue Next button at the top right of the screen.
  16. Your phone will now attempt to verify your details. You may see a pop up which states Cannot connect Using SSL. Click Yes and this will continue to verify.
  17. Your iPhone should now be set up and ready to receive email.

    Please Note:

    Depending on your internet service provider, the default port of 25 should allow you to send e-mail. If you find that you are having problems sending mail, the first step would be to change the port to 26 or 587. To do this:

    • Locate your account via the Mail, Contacts, Calendars option, select your account and then tap the IMAP account to get in to the account settings.
    • Tap SMTP - mail.lcn.com and again to edit the details.
    • At the bottom of the screen will be an option to change the port, tap this and enter 26 or 587, and then hit Done.
