How to set up your email account in Outlook 2019 for Mac

This guide will explain how to set up an LCN email on Outlook 2019 for Mac for customers using LCN Web hosting, WordPress Hosting, Email hosting or a free mailbox.

Before you get started, you’ll need to have your email address and password handy. If you can’t remember these details, you can check and reset them from your LCN account

You will also need to ensure you have Authenticated SMTP enabled. You can find out how to do this here.

Let’s get started…

  1. Open Outlook and then choose Tools along the top navigation bar and then Accounts from the list.
  1. Select Add Email Account, or select the + icon and then New account to add an account.
  1. Enter your Email Address and then select Continue
  1. Outlook should then automatically detect your account settings and provide the option to select Add Account
  1. If Outlook is unable to automatically detect your account settings, you can manually configure the account by applying these settings:
  • Type: IMAP or POP.
  • Email Address: Your full email address.
  • Username: Your full email address.
  • Password: Your email address password.
  • Incoming Server: mail.lcn.com (port 993 for IMAP, 995 for POP)
  • Use SSL to connect: Tick this option.
  • Outgoing Server: mail.lcn.com.
  • Use SSL to connect: Tick this option.

Then select Add Account to create the account.

  1. Select Done to complete the setup, or select Add Another Account if you need to set up any other email addresses in Outlook.

Please Note: Depending on your internet service provider, the default port of 25 should allow you to send email. If you find that you are having problems sending mail, the first step would be to change the port to 26 or 587. To do this click Tools then Accounts, tick to Override default port for Outgoing Server. Change the port number to 26 or 587.

That’s it, you have now set up your LCN email in Outlook 2019 on Mac.
