We’re delighted to announce that LCN, as part of the team.blue Group, is now B Corp certified.
Becoming a Certified B Corporation means joining a global community of businesses committed to using business as a force for good, with social, environmental and governance performance independently assessed against B Lab’s standards.
For us, certification isn’t the finish line. It recognises the progress already made across team.blue UK&IE while giving us a framework that will continue to challenge us to make thoughtful, measurable improvements in the years ahead.
What does B Corp mean?
B Corp Certification looks at a company’s impact beyond its financial performance. B Lab’s framework considers how businesses affect people and the planet, as well as their approach to governance and accountability.
For customers, employees and other stakeholders, certification provides greater confidence that responsible business practices are embedded in the way a company operates.

“B Corp isn’t a sustainability programme, it’s a business model, one that grows the impact for every stakeholder. Seeing the UK & IE team take this on and deliver it with flair is exactly the kind of ownership I want to see in every business. We are now counting three B Corp certifications across the group, onto the next!”
– Vanessa De Waele, Group Sustainability Director
The progress behind our certification
Our 2024/25 Impact Report highlighted the work already taking place across team.blue UK&IE. Our approach is built around three key pillars: sustainable tech, digital inclusion and digital trust.
Here are five highlights that demonstrate what those commitments look like in practice.
1. Lower impact technology
Our primary UK data centre has been powered by 100% renewable electricity since 2021. All of our company vehicles are now hybrid or electric, while 100% of our end-of-life servers were recycled or reused rather than being sent to landfill.
2. Better measurement and accountability
We’ve improved the way we collect carbon data, allowing us to track energy use across our offices and data centres more accurately.
Scope 1 emissions fell by 86% from 2023. At the same time, our Impact Report transparently records increases in Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions, identifying areas where better data and further action are still needed.
3. An inclusive place to work
We want to create a workplace where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Across our organisation, 50% of new hires were female, while female representation at leadership level reached 34%. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training achieved 94% completion, complemented by practical colleague support including Mental Health First Aiders and wellbeing-focused Lunch & Learn sessions.
4. Supporting our communities
Making a positive impact also means looking beyond our own organisation.
At Group level, a step challenge raised €18,000 for MOVE Europe, supporting disabled children and young people. Closer to home, sponsorship of Nunnery Wood United helped provide a safe football environment for more than 20 women and supported the launch of an under-18 girls team.
5. Customer care and digital trust
Trust has always been an important part of helping people and businesses succeed online.
A formal quality-assurance process was introduced in February 2025 to further strengthen customer service, alongside an Advanced Technical team for more complex enquiries.
We’ve also continued to strengthen our information-security governance. Participation in cyber, AI and data-privacy training reached 100%, with an 87% completion rate at the reporting point.
Why this matters to LCN customers
Achieving B Corp certification is something we’re proud to celebrate, but it’s also a platform for what comes next.
We’ll continue measuring our impact and being transparent about the areas where we’re making progress – as well as those where there’s still more work to do. And we’ll continue using the B Corp framework to help inform decisions affecting our customers, colleagues, communities and the environment.
Thank you to our customers, colleagues and partners for being part of that journey. We’re proud to have reached this milestone, and we’re looking forward to building on it.
B Corp FAQs
A Certified B Corporation is a for-profit company that has been assessed against B Lab’s standards for social, environmental and governance impact. Certification is designed to demonstrate that responsible business practices, transparency and accountability are built into the way a company operates.
B Lab is the organisation behind B Corp Certification. Its standards are developed and governed with independent, multi-stakeholder oversight and are designed to define responsible business practices across social, environmental and governance topics.
It means LCN has completed the relevant B Corp certification process and met the applicable requirements. For our customers, it provides external recognition of our commitment to considering the wider impact of our business, not just its commercial performance.
No. While environmental performance is an important part of B Corp, the framework is much broader. It also considers people, communities, customers, governance, accountability and responsible business practices.
B Corp Certification isn’t simply a self-declared label. B Lab’s certification model requires businesses to provide evidence and undergo verification against its standards. B Lab has also introduced updated standards and a transition towards independent third-party assurance for certification.
No. B Corp is built around ongoing accountability rather than being a one-off award. B Lab’s current standards framework includes continuing requirements and review during the certification cycle, meaning certified companies need to keep demonstrating progress and conformity.
