This guide will show you how to set up your email address on Mac Mail, for customers using LCN web hosting, WordPress hosting and Email hosting.

Before you start you’ll need to know the email address and password for the account you’re looking to set up. If you are unsure of these details they can be found in your LCN account.

Let’s get started…

Incoming Server Settings

  1. Open Mac Mail and go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts in the top-left.
  2. Click the + icon in the bottom left of the accounts list to add a new account.
  3. On the Incoming Mail Server screen you can select IMAP as the account type by default, or POP3 if your mailbox is hosted on our platform.
  4. Once this is done, ensure the server details match the following and click Continue:
    • Incoming Mail Server – mail.lcn.com
    • Username – Your full email address
    • Password – Your full mailbox password
    • SSL – off
    • Port – 143 for IMAP, 110 for POP3

Outgoing Server Settings

  1. Once you’re on the Outgoing Mail Server screen your details should match the following:
    • Outgoing Mail Server – mail.lcn.com
    • Description – Something unique
    • Username – Your full email address
    • Password – Your full mailbox password
    • Use Authentication – ticked
    • SSL – off
    • Port – 25, 26 or 587
