How to change your FTP password

If you’re using web hosting or WordPress hosting packages, this guide will show you how to change your FTP password.

If you need help uploading your website via FTP, we’ve got a guide for that here.

Let’s get started…

  1. Login to your account and click Hosting
  2. Click Manage site next to the relevant hosting
  3. Under the FTP Details heading, click Change Password to change the password for the default FTP account.
  4. If you have set up additional FTP accounts and you wish to change the password for these, click Manage FTP Accounts and click Change Password next to the relevant account

Please Note: To make sure your chosen password is secure you will need to make sure that it is at least 10 characters long. The system will also check to make sure the provided password is considered strong enough. Simple passwords such as a name or city will likely be too easy to guess or crack and considered not secure.
