How to change your FTP password

If you’re using LCN.com web hosting or WordPress hosting packages, this guide will show you how to change your FTP password. 

Please note: Your FTP is usually shared with a mailbox username. Changing your FTP password may change your mailbox password and vice versa.

Let’s get started… 

  1. Login to your LCN.com account and head to your Control Panel
  1. Click on the domain you wish to update the FTP for. 
  1. Click on Hosting settings followed by FTP Users
  1. You will now see your FTP Usernames and if they are enabled. Click on the name you wish to update. 
  1. In the first box labelled Password enter your new password. 

Please Note: To make sure your chosen password is secure you will need to make sure that it is at least 8 characters long, it must also include at least 3 of the following: Lower case letter, upper case letter, number, special character. For a guide on making a secure password click here

  1. Confirm password in the second box. 
  1. Scroll down and click Save 

That’s it! You’ve changed your FTP account password.
