How to Activate and Install WayWidget

WayWidget is a lightweight accessibility tool designed to help make your website more inclusive and user-friendly. It’s easy to activate and install and doesn’t require major changes to your website’s code. This guide walks you through the full setup process.

Step1: Activate WayWidget

  1. Navigate to our website lcn.com
    • Once on the website, choose “Log in” found on the top right-hand side of the page and log into your Online Control Panel. If you need assistance with this, please follow this guide.
  1. Find your WayWidget plan and click “Manage”
    • In the Online Control Panel, locate the WayWidget plan among your active products and click the “Manage” button next to it.
  1. You’ll be redirected to the iubenda Dashboard
    • This is where the WayWidget is managed.
  1. Find the WayWidget tile and click “Activate”
    • On the iubenda Dashboard, scroll to the list of available tools. Look for the WayWidget section and click the green “Activate” button to enable the tool.
  1. Confirm your website URL
    • You’ll be asked to verify the website you want to use the widget on. Double-check the URL to make sure it’s correct, then proceed.

Step 2: Install WayWidget on Your Website

  1. Click the “Embed” button to get your code
After activation, a button labelled “Embed” will appear in the WayWidget section. Click it to generate the code snippet needed to install the widget on your site.
  1. Copy the provided code snippet
This small piece of code is what enables the widget. It includes everything needed to load and display the WayWidget.
  1. Paste the code into your website’s HTML
Open your website’s source code and paste the code immediately after the <head> tag. This helps ensure the widget loads properly when someone visits your site.
  • If you use a Website Builder or CMS, like WordPress, find the place to add custom code in the header or site settings and paste the code right after the <head> tag.
  • If you manage your website files directly (for example, using shared hosting), open your site’s main HTML file and paste the code immediately after the <head> tag.
  1. Save and publish your changes
After inserting the code, save your changes and preview your website to make sure widget appears correctly. Once you’re happy, publish your changes to make the widget live.
  1. Check that the widget is working
Visit your website in a browser and refresh the page. You should now see a small accessibility icon – this means the WayWidget is live and functioning.
