This guide is to help LCN customers in creating or editing their an A, AAAA, CNAME or TXT record to connect their domain to services. To understand the difference in these records see our guide here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s get started\u2026 <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding an A, AAAA, CNAME or TXT record<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
  1. Login to your LCN Account<\/a> and head to your Control Panel<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    1. Click on the domain you wish to update. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      1. Click DNS Settings<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        If this is the first time you have ever been to the DNS page for your domain, you may see a box appear entitled\u202fActivate Advanced DNS<\/strong>.<\/em> You will need to tick the confirmation tickbox and click\u202fActivate<\/strong> to reveal your full DNS settings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Now that you can see the different settings you can add the different types of records. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. First enter your Host name <\/strong>for your record. This will decide where you would like the record to be, e.g. \u2018www\u2019 
           
          If you would like your record to be on the root domain you can leave this blank. This is called the naked domain. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
          \n

          Please Note: <\/strong>If you are adding an A or AAAA record for your main website you will likely need a record for both the naked domain and \u2018www\u2019. Check with your host to ensure what records you need to add. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

          1. Select the Type<\/strong> of record you are adding e.g. A record, CNAME record etc. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
            1. If you have Domain Proxy for your domain, you will be able to select your TTL<\/strong>. You can leave this blank and it will default the TTL<\/strong> for you. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
              1. Lastly enter the Result <\/strong>for your record: <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
