We advise that you take regular backups of your database. Backup your MYSQL database to not only protect you from data loss, it can also protect you from accidental deletion and human error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can take backups using your LCN backup tool as shown in our guide here<\/a>, however, it is still beneficial to take a manual backup as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before we start to backup your MYSQL database you are going to need your database Username,<\/strong> Password<\/strong> and Hostname<\/strong>. You would have chosen your Username and Password when you created the database, the hostname is included with these details in your LCN account<\/a> under the MySQL section of your domain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you used our one-click install for WordPress<\/strong> you can find the relevant details from your WordPress configuration file via FTP <\/a>or File Manager<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s Get started\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to http:\/\/domain.com\/mysqladmin (replace domain.com with your actual domain name).<\/li>
  2. Log in to phpMyAdmin with your\u00a0Database Username\u00a0and\u00a0Password, choose the correct\u00a0Hostname\u00a0from the\u00a0Server Choice\u00a0dropdown.<\/li>
  3. Select\u00a0Databases<\/strong>\u00a0and choose your database e.g. domain_com_db<\/li>
  4. Click\u00a0Export<\/strong>\u00a0and click\u00a0Go<\/strong>.<\/li>
  5. You\u2019ll be asked to\u00a0Download<\/strong>\u00a0the file and\u00a0Save<\/strong>\u00a0it to a location on your machine.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
