This guide will explain how to set up an SSL on your WordPress website for customers using LCN.com\u202fweb hosting<\/a>\u202fand\u202fWordPress hosting<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before you start, you\u2019ll need to have purchased an LCN.com\u202fSSL certificate<\/a>\u202ffor your site.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enable HTTPS\u202ffrom your LCN account\u202f<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With LCN we offer a quick way to set up your redirect straight from your LCN account saving you the hassle of fiddling with your website files or site plugins.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do this you will need to\u2026\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log in to your\u202fLCN account<\/a>\u202fand move to your\u202fControl Panel<\/strong>.\u202f <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    1. Click on the domain you have added an SSL to.\u202f <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      1. Click on your hosting package.\u202f <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        1. Now click\u202fSSL Redirect<\/strong>\u202ffrom the options on the left.\u202f <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
          1. Read through the information provided, when you are happy to proceed select\u202fEnabled<\/strong>\u202f <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
            1. Lastly click\u202fUpdate<\/strong>\u202f <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              That\u2019s it! You have now enabled HTTPS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

              If you have any problems from this you may wish to disable the feature and perform the redirect with a plugin as outlined below. You may also need to check your site for mixed content as explained in our guide\u202fhere<\/a>.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Set up an SSL\u00a0with a plugin\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

              To set up an SSL with a plugin you will need to\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

              1. Login to your WordPress dashboard. You can do this by navigating to https:\/\/www.yourdomain.com\/wp-login.php. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                Please Note:<\/strong>\u202fmake sure that you can access the WordPress dashboard for your site via\u202fhttps<\/strong>\u202fbefore attempting to enable SSL for your site. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

                1. Hover over\u202fPlugins<\/strong>\u202fon the left hand side and click\u202fAdd New<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                  1. Use the search bar in the top right hand side to find\u202fReally Simple SSL<\/a> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                    1. Click\u202fInstall Now<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                      1. Once installed you\u2019ll need to turn the plugin on. Do this by clicking\u202fActivate Plugin<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                        1. To enable SSL click\u202fGo ahead, activate SSL!<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                          That\u2019s it! The SSL should now be enabled for your WordPress website. You can test this by browsing to your domain without https, the website should then redirect to https and the SSL padlock should be visible next to your URL bar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
