Customers using our Apache hosting\u202fpackages can backup and restore their websites using the LCN Apache Backup utility. Taking regular backups is super-important for any website owner and this tool (once activated) will ensure you have access to regular backups of your website and databases.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s get started\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activating your Backups <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
  1. Log in to\u202fyour LCN account<\/a> and move to your Control Panel<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    1. Find the domain you would like to add your backup to. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      1. Click\u202fActivate<\/strong>,\u00a0by Apache Backup<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        1. Complete the checkout process. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          That\u2019s it! You\u2019ve successfully activated your backups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Restoring your website <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
          1. Log in to\u202fyour LCN account<\/a> and head to your Control Panel<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
            1. Click\u202fon the domain you wish to restore you website for. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
              1. Click\u202fHosting Settings<\/strong>, followed by Backups<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                1. You will now see a full list of your backups and the dates and times each one was taken. Click on the backup folder you would like to restore from. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                  1. You can now navigate your backup in the same way you would navigate your site’s files. You will likely find your website files inside the web folder. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                    1. To restore your website files tick the boxes to the right of the files you would like to restore. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                      1. Once you are happy with your selection click Restore<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                        That\u2019s it! You\u2019ve successfully started a restore your website files. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                        Once the files have been retrieved, they will be placed within your webspace in a folder called restored<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                        \n

                        Please Note: <\/strong>If you have selected a large number of files to restore, or a whole folder, the system will need time to complete the restore. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

                        You can now access these files via FTP or your File Manager and move them to where you need them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                        Downloading your backup files <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                        If you would like to download and save files from your backups to your local machine you can. You will then be able to store the files to your own device a USB or external hard drive or your favourite cloud storage system.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                        You can do this with the following steps\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                        1. Log in to\u202fyour LCN account<\/a> and head to your Control Panel<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                          1. Next click\u202fon the domain you wish to restore. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                            1. Click\u202fHosting Settings<\/strong>, followed by Backups<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                              1. You will now see a full list of your backups and the dates and times each one was taken. Click on the backup folder you would like to download from. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                                1. Navigate to the file or folder you would like to download and click the Orange down arrow. This will download that file or folder to your machine. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                                  That\u2019s it! You have now downloaded your backup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                  Obtaining a Database backup <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                  If you require a back up your database this is also possible. To obtain a backup of your database you will need to\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                  1. Log in to\u202fyour LCN account<\/a> and head to your Control Panel<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                                    1. Click\u202fon the domain you wish to restore. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                                      1. Then click\u202fHosting Settings<\/strong>, followed by Backups<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                                        1. Click MySQL<\/strong> <\/strong>on the left. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                                          1. Using the drop-down options you can now choose the backup you desire. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                                            1. When you are happy with your choice click Proceed<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                                              1. The system will then download your backup and place it into a restored <\/strong>folder within your FTP and File Manager. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                                                That\u2019s it! You now have a backup of your database which you can down load directly from your File Manager or FTP. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
