This guide shows you how to set up the built-in metro mail on Windows 8 with your LCN hosted email for customers using LCN\u202fweb hosting<\/a>,\u202fWordPress hosting<\/a>,\u202fEmail hosting<\/a>\u202for LiteMail with an Authenticated SMTP.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before you get started,\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0need to have your email address and password handy. If you can\u2019t remember these details, you can check and reset them from your\u00a0LCN account<\/a>.\u00a0

You will also need to ensure you have Authenticated SMTP enabled. You can find out how to do this\u00a0here<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Open up\u202fMail<\/strong>\u202ffrom the metro menu. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    1. Select view all accounts. This will then open a menu on the right side of the screen and from this menu choose\u202fOther account<\/strong>.  <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. Another menu will pop up and this will allow you to choose IMAP which is the service our mail servers use. Select\u202fIMAP<\/strong>\u202fand click connect. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        \"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
        1. Connecting to our server requires your\u202fe-mail address<\/strong>\u202fand\u202fe-mail password<\/strong>. If you\u2019ve got these handy, follow through the next points to establish a connection to your mailbox:  <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
          • In the Email address & username box, put your\u202ffull email address<\/strong>\u202fand\u202femail password<\/strong>. <\/li>
          • In the incoming (IMAP) email server section, add\u202fmail.lcn.com<\/strong>\u202fand ensure the port number is\u202f143<\/strong>. If a tick appears in the \u2018Incoming server requires SSL box, remove this. <\/li>
          • In the outgoing (SMTP) email server section, add\u202fmail.lcn.com<\/strong>\u202fand ensure the port number is\u202f25<\/strong>. If a tick appears in the \u2018Outgoing server requires SSL box, remove this. <\/li>
          • The final two boxes,\u202fOutgoing server requires authentication<\/strong>\u202f&\u202fUse the same username and password to send and receive mail<\/strong>\u202fboth need to\u202fticked<\/strong>\u202fto ensure that you can send mail. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            1. Once all the required sections have been filled out, select\u202fConnect<\/strong>\u202fand your mailbox should be all set up!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              That\u2019s it! You have now set up your LCN hosted email on Windows 8. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Please Note<\/strong>: Depending on your internet service provider, the default port of 25 should allow you to send e-mail. If you find that you are having problems sending mail, the first step would be to change the port to\u202f26<\/strong>\u202for\u202f587<\/strong>\u202funder the\u202fOutgoing server information<\/strong>\u202foption. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
