This guide will explain how to set up an LCN email on Outlook 2011 for Mac for customers using LCN\u202fweb hosting<\/a>,\u202fWordPress hosting<\/a>,\u202fEmail hosting<\/a>\u202for LiteMail with an Authenticated SMTP.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before you get started, you\u2019ll need to have your email address and password handy. If you can\u2019t remember these details, you can check and reset them from your LCN account<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will also need to ensure you have Authenticated SMTP enabled. You can find out how to do this here<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s get started\u2026  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Open Outlook 2011 for Mac and then choose\u202fTools<\/strong>\u202falong the top navigation bar and then\u202fAccounts<\/strong>\u202ffrom the list.\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. Choose the\u202fE-mail Account<\/strong>\u202foption and enter your\u202fe-mail address and password<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. When you enter your email address, other options will become available and you need to enter the following server settings as they appear below:  <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        • User name<\/strong>: Your full e-mail address. <\/li>
        • Type<\/strong>: IMAP. <\/li>
        • Incoming server<\/strong>: mail.lcn.com. <\/li>
        • Leave both Override default port and Use SSL to connect unticked. <\/li>
        • Outgoing server<\/strong>: mail.lcn.com. <\/li>
        • Leave both Override default port and Use SSL to connect unticked. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          1. Once the details have been added, click\u202fAdd Account<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
            1. You now need to click the\u202fMore Options<\/strong>\u202fbutton at the bottom of the account page and change\u202fAuthentication<\/strong>\u202fto\u202fUse Incoming Server Info<\/strong>, then click\u202fOK<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              1. Your mailbox will now show on the right hand side of the e-mail program and you can now send and receive mail.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                Please Note:<\/strong>\u202fDepending on your internet service provider, the default port of 25 should allow you to send e-mail. If you find that you are having problems sending mail, the first step would be to change to\u202f26<\/strong>\u202for\u202f587<\/strong>. To do this: <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

                • Select\u202fTools<\/strong>\u202ffrom the top menu and then choose\u202fAccounts<\/strong>. <\/li>
                • Under the account you are trying to send mail from, place a tick in the\u202fOverride default port<\/strong>\u202foption and chanege this to either\u202f26<\/strong>\u202for\u202f587<\/strong>. <\/li>
                • Close this window down and this will save the setting for you. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
