This will allow you to manage spam mail you may receive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The filter will analyse the traits of emails as they come into our system and&nbsp;will be handled accordingly to your settings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide will show LCN\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lcn.com\/web-hosting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Web hosting<\/a>,\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lcn.com\/email-hosting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Email hosting<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lcn.com\/web-hosting\/wordpress\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WordPress hosting<\/a>\u202fcustomers&nbsp;and&nbsp;LiteMail&nbsp;users&nbsp;how to manage&nbsp;your spam protection.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s&nbsp;get started\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changing your spam filter settings&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>By&nbsp;default,&nbsp;all mailboxes will have their spam filtering enabled and set to the recommended sensitivity and should be able to manage spam mail as needed, however, you may want to change this setting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To check and change the&nbsp;default&nbsp;filter settings you will need to\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Log in to your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/login.lcn.com\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LCN account<\/a>\u00a0and head to your\u00a0<strong>Control Panel<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\"><li>Click on the domain you wish to check and update your settings for.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\"><li>Next click on&nbsp;<strong>Email Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>followed by&nbsp;<strong>Spam Filtering<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>and you can&nbsp;now see your&nbsp;spam&nbsp;filtering&nbsp;settings.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\"><li>Now you can see the settings you will want to start by choosing&nbsp;your<strong>&nbsp;Spam destination<\/strong>. This will decide how emails considered as spam will be handled.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>No Spam Protection \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>With this option all emails whether they are&nbsp;suspected as&nbsp;spam or not will be delivered as normal.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Reject all suspected spam&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 With this option all emails&nbsp;suspected&nbsp;as spam will be disregarded.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Webmail\/IMAP Junk E-mail folder&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 Any emails considered as spam will be moved to&nbsp;the&nbsp;standard junk folder.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Send to user&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 This will direct emails considered as spam to a specific user.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Send to NEW user<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 This option will create a new user which you can then use specifically for spam&nbsp;and\/or viruses&nbsp;which will then appear in your mailbox list.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\"><li>Now you know where you would like your spam to go you can adjust the&nbsp;<strong>Protection threshold.<\/strong>&nbsp;This will be the score an email has to reach for the filter to then consider the email as&nbsp;suspected&nbsp;spam.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"container row col-md-24 support-article panel panel-default panel-body\" style=\"background-color: #f6e9db; border-color: #ead9c7; border: 1px solid #ddd; border-radius: 4px; padding: 1% 2%; background-image: url('\/images\/my_account\/highlight.png'); background-position: left top; background-repeat: repeat-x;\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\"><strong style=\"color: #e77600 !important; font-size: 18px;\">Please Note:&nbsp;<\/strong>Setting the threshold to low will likely allow actual spam to pass, whereas setting to high you may see legitimate emails marked as spam in error.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"6\"><li>Next you can choose for the filter to add a&nbsp;<strong>Subject prefix<\/strong>, this will add to the subject line of suspected spam emails so you can easily identify it. This helps if you&nbsp;choose to have these emails received to your inbox.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"7\"><li>Now that you have set you filter settings you can choose if you would like to&nbsp;<strong>Allow users to over<\/strong><strong>ride?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"8\"><li>Lastly, you will choose if you want these settings to&nbsp;<strong>Replace existing user&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>settings?<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>This will apply the settings you have changed to all current users.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"9\"><li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Save.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s&nbsp;it! Whitelisting a sender or domain will mean that no matter the emails spam score emails from that domain or address is accepted.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To add&nbsp;or remove&nbsp;a domain or email to your whitelist or&nbsp;blacklist&nbsp;you will need to\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Log in to your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/login.lcn.com\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LCN account<\/a>\u00a0and head to your\u00a0<strong>Control Panel<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\"><li>Click on the domain you wish to check and update your settings for.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\"><li>Next click on&nbsp;<strong>Email Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>followed by&nbsp;<strong>Address Filters.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\"><li>In the first box, you can add&nbsp;or remove&nbsp;emails or domains you would like to be on your&nbsp;<strong>Global blacklist<\/strong>.&nbsp;When adding to your list use a new line for each domain or email you add.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\"><li>Scrolling down the page you will be able to also add&nbsp;or remove&nbsp;emails and domains to your&nbsp;<strong>Global whitelist<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>When adding to your list use a new line for each domain or email you add.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"container row col-md-24 support-article panel panel-default panel-body\" style=\"background-color: #f6e9db; border-color: #ead9c7; border: 1px solid #ddd; border-radius: 4px; padding: 1% 2%; background-image: url('\/images\/my_account\/highlight.png'); background-position: left top; background-repeat: repeat-x;\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\"><strong style=\"color: #e77600 !important; font-size: 18px;\">Please Note:&nbsp;<\/strong>This will apply to all your users.
