This guide will help LCN customers in how to create an SRV record. If you would like to understand the differences in DNS settings, you can find this here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s get started\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. To create an SRV record first log in to your\u00a0LCN Account<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    1. Click on the domain you wish to update from your Control Panel<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      1. Click DNS Settings<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        If this is the first time you have ever been to the DNS page for your domain, you may see a box appear entitled\u202fActivate Advanced DNS<\/strong>.<\/em> You will need to tick the confirmation tickbox and click\u202fActivate<\/strong> to reveal your full DNS settings <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Scroll down to Service records<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
          1. Enter the name of your record. The name of an SRV record takes the format of _service._protocol. For example, the location of a SIP TCP service would be defined by a record with the name _sip._tcp <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
            1. Enter the TTL<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
              1. Next enter the Priority <\/strong>of your record. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                1. Followed by the Weight <\/strong>of your record. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                  1. Now the Port <\/strong>for your record. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                    1.  Lastly the Result <\/strong>for your record.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                      That\u2019s it! You have now added an SRV record. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                      Deleting an SRV record <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                      To delete an SRV record simply remove the records from your list and click Save<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                      Please Note: <\/strong>The Delete <\/strong>is used when you would like to delete ALL your records and not just one. Do not use this unless you want to remove ALL your records. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
