This guide will explain how to set up your email address in Microsoft Outlook 2010. For customers using LCN\u202fweb hosting<\/a>,\u202fWordPress hosting<\/a>,\u202fEmail hosting<\/a> or LiteMail with an Authenticated SMTP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before you get started, you\u2019ll need to have your email address and password handy. If you can\u2019t remember these details, you can check and reset them from your LCN account<\/a>.

Automatic Setup <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
  1. Click\u202fFile<\/strong>\u202fand select\u202fAdd Account<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. Place the following settings in the\u202fEmail Account<\/strong>\u202fsection under\u202fAuto Account Setup<\/strong>:  <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      • Enter your\u202ffull name<\/strong>\u202fin the\u202fYour Name<\/strong>\u202ffield <\/li>
      • Enter your\u202femail address<\/strong>\u202fin the\u202fEmail Address<\/strong>\u202ffield <\/li>
      • Enter your\u202fpassword<\/strong>\u202fin the\u202fPassword<\/strong>\u202ffield <\/li>
      • Confirm your password again in the\u202fRetype Password<\/strong>\u202ffield <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
        1. Click\u202fNext<\/strong>\u202fto begin the Auto Account Setup process. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
          1. If a pop-up box appears asking to allow your email service provider to configure server settings, click\u202fAllow<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
            1. Once you receive a message telling you that set-up is complete, click\u202fFinish<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              Manual Setup <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

              If the above steps fail, you can try again using the\u202fManually configure server settings or additional server types<\/strong>\u202foption, select\u202fNext<\/strong>\u202fand follow the steps below:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

              1. Select\u202fInternet E-mail<\/strong>\u202fand click\u202fNext<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                1. On the\u202fAdd New Account<\/strong>\u202fwindow enter the following information:  <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                  • In the\u202fUser Information<\/strong>\u202fsection, enter\u202fYour Name<\/strong>\u202fand\u202fE-mail Address<\/strong> <\/li>
                  • Choose\u202fIMAP<\/strong>\u202fin the\u202fAccount Type<\/strong>\u202fdropdown <\/li>
                  • In the\u202fIncoming mail<\/strong>\u202fserver field, enter\u202fmail.lcn.com<\/strong> <\/li>
                  • In the\u202fOutgoing mail server (SMTP)<\/strong>\u202ffield, enter\u202fmail.lcn.com<\/strong> <\/li>
                  • Enter your full\u202femail address<\/strong>\u202finto the\u202fUser Name<\/strong>\u202ftext box <\/li>
                  • Enter your\u202femail address password<\/strong>\u202finto the\u202fPassword<\/strong>\u202ffield <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                    1. Click\u202fMore Settings<\/strong>\u202fand select\u202fthe Outgoing Server<\/strong>\u202ftab. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                      1. Tick\u202fMy outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication<\/strong>\u202fand ensure\u202fUse same settings as my incoming mail server<\/strong>\u202fis selected. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                        1. Click\u202fOK<\/strong>\u202fand select\u202fFinish<\/strong>.<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                          1. Outlook 2010 will test your email account and\u202ftwo green ticks<\/strong>\u202fwill appear if all the information is entered correctly. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                            Please Note:<\/strong>\u202fIf two green ticks do not appear, please ensure there is no spelling mistakes in any of the account settings. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

                            1. Once testing is complete, click\u202fClose<\/strong>.  <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                              That\u2019s it! You\u2019ve now completed your email setup on Outlook 2010. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                              Please Note:<\/strong>\u202fDepending on your internet service provider, the default port of\u202f25<\/strong>\u202fshould allow you to send email. If you find that you are having problems, the first step would be to change the port from\u202f25<\/strong>\u202fto\u202f26<\/strong>\u202for\u202f587<\/strong>.
