{"id":107,"date":"2020-02-12T10:36:34","date_gmt":"2020-02-12T10:36:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lcn.com\/support\/knowledge-base\/how-to-access-ftp-for-domains-in-plesk\/"},"modified":"2020-03-04T12:23:08","modified_gmt":"2020-03-04T12:23:08","slug":"how-to-access-ftp-for-domains-in-plesk","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.lcn.com\/support\/articles\/how-to-access-ftp-for-domains-in-plesk\/","title":{"rendered":"How to access FTP for domains in Plesk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This guide will explain how to access FTP and how to update or create FTP accounts for domains in Plesk using either the Power-user or Service-provider interfaces.<\/p>\n<h2>FTP Client Settings<\/h2>\n<p>The following settings can be used to connect via FTP to the web-space for any domains added to Plesk.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hostname:<\/strong> Enter the IP address of your server or a domain\/hostname that resolves to the server IP.<br \/>\n<strong>Username:<\/strong> Enter the Plesk domain\/subscription username for the domain, or FTP account username.<br \/>\n<strong>Password:<\/strong> Enter the password for the Plesk account\/FTP account you are using to connect.<br \/>\n<strong>Port:<\/strong> 21<br \/>\n<strong>Folder:<\/strong> \/httpdocs\/<\/p>\n<div class=\"container row col-md-24 support-article panel panel-default panel-body\" style=\"background-color: #f6e9db; border-color: #ead9c7; border: 1px solid #ddd; border-radius: 4px; padding: 1% 2%; background-image: url('\/images\/my_account\/highlight.png'); background-position: left top; background-repeat: repeat-x;\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\"><strong style=\"color: #e77600 !important; font-size: 18px;\">Please note:<\/strong> The folder path may be different if you have not created a new web-space for the domain, if you have added the domain to an existing web-space you will need to enter the correct folder path selected for the domain.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>If the FTP connection fails, try changing the connection type in your FTP client from passive to active mode.<\/p>\n<h2>Adding FTP accounts and Updating FTP login details<\/h2>\n<p>When you add a domain name to Plesk you will set a username\/password for the domain name that can be used to access FTP.
