This guide will show you everything you need to do to create a subdomain on LCN\u202fWeb hosting<\/a>\u202for\u202fWordPress hosting<\/a>\u202fpackage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subdomains allow you to create multiple sites using the same name but a different prefix to \u2018www.\u2019 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, if your domain name was example.com<\/em> you could create a subdomain for\u202f\u201cblog\u201d<\/strong>. Subdomains are often used to separate applications on a website, such as shop.exmaple.com, blog.example.com<\/em> or bookings.example.com<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Let\u2019s get started\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create a subdomain for your hosted domain name: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log in to\u202fyour LCN account<\/a> and enter your Control Panel<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    1. Click\u202fon the domain you would like to make a subdomain for. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      1. Click\u202fHosting Settings <\/strong>followed by Subdomains.<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        1. Next click on Add Subdomain.<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
          1. Enter the name of your S<\/strong>ubdomain<\/strong>, the part which will before your root domain. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
            1. Choose the Path <\/strong>for your Subdomain, this will be the location your subdomain files will be located within your hosting. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
              1. Lastly, choose if you would like the system to Create DNS?<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                Please Note: <\/strong>If you are not using LCN nameservers, you will need to update your DNS with your provider.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

                That\u2019s it! You have now created subdomain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                Accessing your subdomain <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                When your subdomain has been created, you will find your subdomain in the path selected via FTP or our File Manager<\/strong>. All that is left to do is\u202fupload your website<\/a>\u202fto the web folder for your subdomain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                How to remove your subdomain <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                If you only created a subdomain for temporary purposes such as testing or building a new site you will likely want to remove it when you are finished. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                To remove your subdomain from your control panel\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                1. Log in to your\u202fLCN account<\/a> and enter your Control Panel<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                  1. Click\u202fon the domain where your subdomain is located. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                    1. Next, click\u202fHosting Settings <\/strong>followed by Subdomains.<\/strong> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                      1. Now, click on you\u2019re the Name <\/strong>of your subdomain. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                        1. Click\u202fDelete<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                          1. Confirm the deletion by clicking Delete <\/strong>again. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                            Please note<\/strong>: When you delete a subdomain from your control panel the content will remain within your hosting and can still be accessed via FTP or our file manager and the content can be fully deleted.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
