Logging in to VestaCP

After purchasing a Cloud server, an email containing your Cloud login details will be emailed to the LCN account holder. These details are needed to login to your VestaCP control panel via a web browser.

  1. Open your favourite web browser.
  2. Navigate to your VestaCP login page by typing your cloud hostname, followed by the port number 8083 in the URL bar of your browser. E.g. https://cloud12345-1.lcncloud.com:8083
  3. In the Username field enter your VestaCP username.
  4. In the Password field enter your VestaCP password.
  5. Click Log in.


Pointing your domain to your Cloud Server

Glue records are used to setup your own custom nameservers with the domain registry. You can create custom nameservers from within your LCN account by following the instructions below.

  1. Log in to your LCN account.
  2. Click Domains.
  3. Click Manage next to the domain you want to point to your cloud.
  4. Click Edit Nameservers in the Nameservers section.
  5. In the Primary Hostname field enter ns0.yourdomain.com.
  6. In the IP Address field, enter the IP address of your server.

  7. Please note: Your public IP address can be found in your setup email.

  8. In the Secondary Hostname field enter ns1.yourdomain.com.
  9. In the IP Address field, enter the IP address of your server again.
  10. Click UPDATE and allow 24 hours for these changes to take effect.


Setting up Nameservers within VestaCP

  1. Login to your Vesta control panel.
  2. Select USER.
  3. Hover over the admin user and click EDIT.
  4. Scroll the Default Name Servers section at the bottom.
  5. In the first field, enter ns0.yourdomain.com.
  6. In the second field, enter ns1.yourdomain.com.
  7. Finally, click Save.


Adding a domain to VestaCP

To upload your website and create email addresses, a domain name is needed. You can add your domain name to VestaCP by following the instructions below:

  1. Login to your Vesta control panel.
  2. Click WEB.
  3. Click the green + to ADD WEB DOMAIN.
  4. In the Domain field, enter your domain name.
  5. Ensure that DNS Support and Mail Support are ticked.
  6. Click Add.


Creating an FTP Account

To upload, edit and remove files from your VestaCP Cloud, you will need to create an FTP account. To do this you’ll first need to create an FTP account using the steps below:

  1. Login to your Vesta control panel.
  2. Click WEB.
  3. Hover over the domain you’d like to setup an FTP account for and click EDIT.
  4. Scroll top the Additional FTP section and tick the box.
  5. In the Username field, enter a username for the FTP account.

  6. Please note: a prefix will automatically be added to the beginning of this username. For example, the username “lcn” would need to be entered in the FTP client as “admin_lcn”.

  7. In the Password field, enter a secure password or click generate to generate a randomly secure password.
  8. Leave the Path field blank.
  9. In the Send FTP credentials to email field, enter an email address you would like the FTP login information sent to.
  10. Once you’re happy, click Save.


Creating a Database

Many website application now include a database. Below we show you how to create a database, a database user and access the database via phpMyAdmin.

  1. Login to your Vesta control panel.
  2. Click DB.
  3. Click the green + to ADD DATABASE.
  4. In the Database field, enter the name for your database e.g. yourdomaindb.
  5. In the User field, enter a username for your database.

  6. Please note: a prefix will automatically be added to the beginning of the database and username.

  7. In the Password field, enter a secure password or click generate to generate a randomly secure password.
  8. Leave the Type as mysql.
  9. Leave the Host as localhost.
  10. Leave the Charset as utf8.
  11. In the Send login credentials to email address field, enter an email address you would like the login information sent to.
  12. Once you’re happy, click Add.


Accessing phpMyAdmin

  1. Login to your Vesta control panel.
  2. Click DB.
  3. Click PHPMYADMIN.
  4. Enter your Database Username and Password and click Go.
  5. Select your database name from the left-hand panel.


Creating an email account

Now your website and database is setup, we’re going to look at how to create a new mailbox in VestaCP.

  1. Login to your Vesta control panel.
  2. Click MAIL.
  3. Hover over the domain you’d like to setup an email account for and click ADD ACCOUNT.
  4. In the Account field, enter the first part of your email address e.g. john.
  5. In the Password field, enter a secure password or click generate to generate a randomly secure password.
  6. Make a note of the server settings on the right-hand side as these will be needed to setup your email account on your favourite email client.
  7. Once you’re ready to add your account, click Add.


That’s it! You’re now ready to use your website and emails on your Cloud Server.
