Uploading your site with web publisher
LCN advises all of our customers to use FTP software as it allows for greater control over your web files and allows you to see what files you have sitting on the server. If however you choose to use Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard below are step-by-step instructions.
1. Open up Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard.
2. Click 'Browse Folders' if you want to upload a whole folder of web files
or click 'Browse Files' to select individual files to upload. Click 'Next'
3. Choose a name that you wish to refer to the server. Click on the 'Advanced'
button.
4. Select FTP as the connection method. Click 'Next'
5. Enter the full address of your domain name i.e. http://www.yourdomain.com
.
The 'Local directory' field should have already been set in step 2.
6. Now set the 'FTP server name' i.e. ftp.yourdomain.com .
IMPORTANT
On the NT hosting plans the 'Subfolder' must be set to htdocs.
Click 'Next'
7. Click 'Finish'. You will now need to enter the Username and Password
provided to you in your set up email. Click 'OK'. Microsoft
Web Publishing Wizard will now upload your web files.
