FTP - File Transfer Protocol - Frontpage 2000
If you have used Microsoft FrontPage 2000 to create your website you will have to be hosted on one of the UN web hosting packages. This is because certain elements that FrontPage creates need special extensions to be installed on the server for them to work e.g. hit counters, banner ads, rollover buttons etc.
To upload your files to the server you will need to use the built in publish function within the FrontPage software. Please note you must not use a combination of the FrontPage publishing wizard and FTP when uploading a MS FrontPage designed website as this can corrupt the MS FrontPage server extensions. Please follow the instructions below (these instructions are for Microsoft Frontpage 2000).
-
Goto file >> Publish FrontPage Web.

- A pop-up window will appear. In the field 'Specify the location to publish
your web to' enter the full address for your domain name e.g. http://www.yourdomain.com
. Please note: please make sure you are connected to the internet before you click 'Publish'.

-
Another pop-up window will appear asking for your 'Name' and 'Password'.
'Name' = webmaster
'Password' = your password
Click Ok.

FrontPage 2000 will now upload the files you have created to the server.
