Setting up a FTP connection with Dreamweaver

Below is a step-by-step guide to uploading your files for UN web hosting using Dreamweaver.

  1. 1. Select 'Site' in the toolbar then choose 'Manage Sites'.

  2. 2. Select 'New' followed by 'Site' to set up a new site.
  3. 3. Click on the 'Advanced' tab and click the 'Remote Info' category.
  4. 4. Select 'FTP' and enter your domain name (www.yourdomain.com)
  5. 5. Enter the host directory (/web folder) at the remote site where you store documents that are visible to the public.
  6. 6. Enter the login name and password that were supplied to you when ordering your hosting package
  7. Dreamweaver saves your password by default. Deselect the Save option if you prefer that Dreamweaver prompt you for a password each time you connect to the remote server.

  8. 7. Click the 'Test'. You should see the following window.

You are now ready to start transfering files.
