Setting up e-mail for UN web hosting - Outlook XP
The following instructions are for setting up your e-mail account in Microsoft Outlook for Office XP on a PC.
Before you can begin to set up your e-mail account you will need to find out some settings information.
To send e-mail from your computer you use an outgoing mailserver that uses SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) to move your email from one server to another. If you think of your outgoing mailserver as a post box when you send an e-mail it is posted there and then delivered to the mailbox for that e-mail address.
To set up a new e-mail account:
- Open up Microsoft Outlook. Go to Tools >> E-mail Accounts, a pop
up window will appear.

- Check the 'Add a new e-mail account' radio button. Click
'Next'

- Next check the 'POP3' radio button as the type of
server for your new mail account.Click
'Next'

- Fill out the fields with the relevant information that is supplied
in your hosting set-up email. In the 'Outgoing mail
server (SMTP)' field enter smtp.lcn.biz.

- Finally click 'Finish'. Your e-mail account is now set up.

If at any time you need to change any of the settings go to Tools >> E-mail Accounts >> View or change existing email accounts >> select the e-mail account that you want to alter and either double click it or click the 'Change' button.
