How to transfer your domain name to us

By transferring your domain name to us you'll get great service, free features and competitive prices. The transfer process varies slightly for different domain extensions.

UK domains (.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk)

All .UK domain names have an IPS Tag associated with them. This IPS Tag uniquely identifies who is responsible for administrating the domain. Our IPS Tag is LCN, you'll need to supply this to your current registrar later.

1. Go to the transfers page
2. Enter your domain in to the transfer form and click go
3. If you are an existing customer login otherwise create a new account
4. If your domain is more than 1 month from its expiry date the transfer if free, if not you simply pay the normal 2 year renewal fee
5. Once the domain has been associated with your LCN account you need to instruct your current registrar to release the domain to the IPS Tag LCN

.EU domains

For .EU domains we will initiate a transfer request with EURid the .EU registry. EURid will then send you an email to confirm you want the transfer to proceed. More information can be found on the EURid Trades & Transfers page.

1. Go to the transfers page
2. Enter your domain in to the transfer form and click go
3. Click Confirm and the transfer will be added to your basket, this includes an extra year registration
4. Once you have paid for the transfer we will request the transfer with EURid the .EU registry
5. EURid will send an email to the registered owner requesting them to confirm the transfer via the EURid website. EURid must receive the confirmation of the transfer within a maximum of 14 days, otherwise the transfer will be cancelled
6. If the transfer is successful the domain will be placed in to your LCN account

All other domains

Before you can start the transfer process you will need to do the following:

• Make sure you have access to the email address for the registered owner of your domain, check the WHOIS output for your domain to find this out
Check WHOIS for:
• Unlock your domain and request its Authorisation Code (also know as EPP Code) with your current registrar

Once this is done you can proceed with the transfer:

1. Go to the transfers page
2. Enter your domain in to the transfer form and click go
3. In the Auth Code field enter the auth code you received from your current registrar
4. Click Confirm and the transfer will be added to your basket, this includes an extra year registration
5. Once you have paid for the transfer we will send the registered owner and admin contacts an email asking for authorisation of the transfer request
6. If no response is received from either contact the transfer request will time-out after 7 days
7. 5 days after the transfer request is confirmed the transfer is executed, if successful we will place the domain into your LCN account
