How to create a SPF record
Sender Policy Framework (SPF) records specify which mail servers can send email on behalf of your domain. SPF was created to prevent spammers from sending forged email messages with a From address at your domain name. When an email message is received, the mail server uses the SPF record to check that mail from your domain is being sent by an authorised mail server, if not the mail server can reject it as spam.
A common request for SPF records comes from customers using Google Apps with their domain. Google will supply the SPF value for you. If you would like to create your own have a look at this SPF syntax guide. You use a TXT record to create your SPF DNS entry.
Configuring your SPF record incorrectly may result in no email being accepted from your domain.
