Date set for eShop launch
As mentioned last week, we are in the final development and testing phase of our new eShop packages. We now have a launch date which will be Monday 15th February 2010.
We are extremely excited about these packages, as we know it’s a product our customers have been asking about for some time.
Some of the key features you can expect from our eShop packages are:
- Hundreds of ready-made design templates
- SSL encryption
- Professional marketing tools
- Easy-to-use shop administration
- Integration with Ebay, Kelkoo, Shopping.com and Google Base
- Integration with major payment providers e.g. PayPal, Google Checkout and Sagepay
- Appointment booking system
- eKomi feedback system integration
We will be building an LCN example shop which will showcase all the features you can expect from our eShop packages. We’ll be adding LCN merchandise to the shop too, such as LCN branded clothing, mugs, pens and USB keys. This will be a real working eShop, so you are able to experience the complete functionality of our eShop packages and you can even complete a real purchase of our LCN branded goods if you like!
Recent email issues
As part of our transition across to our brand new hosting platform there was some scheduled maintenance which took place during the early hours of Sunday morning (24th January). The actual maintenance took longer than originally estimated and this had the effect of some services being offline for a large portion of the day.
Unfortunately, after this work was completed, there was an unforeseen knock on effect on our email servers which affected the login authentication for some customers. This unfortunately meant that sending and/or receiving emails was not possible during that time.
This incident has been taken very seriously as we fully appreciate the impact this interruption in service can have on customers who rely on email for their business and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.
We decided to make the transition to a new hosting platform so that our customers can benefit from a highly reliable and more resilient service. There are just a couple more phases of this upgrade left and we will do everything possible to try to ensure that there are no more major interruptions in service during these final stages.
After the process is complete, the problems and interruptions that you may have experienced recently will cease and you will then benefit from one of the most reliable shared hosting services available in the market.
