We intend to use this newsletter as a way of informing you about new and upcoming products and services, and providing information that will give you an insight into what's happening within the domain name industry and LCN. The newsletter will be sent out on a monthly basis but this may change from time to time depending on the amount of news we have for you. This has been due to the massive growth in this area, as our brandname has increased its profile through word of mouth, editorial and various advertising campaigns, and of course the confidence you the consumer have shown in LCN. As a direct result of this growth it was decided that the level of service offered by LCN should be re-assesed. The conclusion was to give customers the ability to fully administor the domain names they purchase and also make the site more user friendly. This however has meant alot of development time, as you may have noticed with the admin section of the site. We are now pleased to announce that the first phase of the admin section has been completed and includes the following functionality: - View invoices for domain names - Manage web forwarding - Manage e-mail forwarding - Release domains away from LCN Through corespondence with you our customers these areas have been highlighted as the most important and fequently asked about and therefore deemed high priority for the first phase of the admin section. For information regarding the following phases please see 'The future plans for LCN' ------------------------------------------- ########################################### # - Update on the new Top Level Domain # # extentions .biz and .info # ########################################### The new Top Level Domains (TLDs) .biz and .info will be available to register shortly see below. .INFO - The minimum registration period will be two years. - LCN are scheduled to start registrations on 17.09.2001. Please note this is a provisional date only LCNews will confirm official dates nearer the time. - Prices have as of yet not been set, but should be around the same price as the .com domain names. .BIZ - The minimum registration period will be two years. - LCN are scheduled to start registrations on 01.10.2001.
