Doug Armentrout, CEO of NeuLevel, said: "We've started testing the real-time registration system in preparation for the first come, first serve registrations. We believe that millions of businesses will come to see the value of .biz and expect their websites to be stable and secure. This rigorous testing program is designed to make sure that our systems have the ability to meet expectations." The new launch date is currently planned for 7th November. Neulevel however may well delay this further. LCN will keep you updated through the website and news flashes. .biz is the world's first and only Internet domain established to meet the needs of businesses and LCN expects strong demand for real-time registration of .biz. ------------------------------------------- ########################################### # - .info update # ########################################### Afilias, the .info registry, announced that more than 500,000 .info domain names were registered during the domain's first 90 days of operation. In comparison, the .com domain took more than five years to reach the same milestone, according to a U.C. Berkeley study of domain acceptance. Roland LaPlante, Chief Marketing Officer of Afilias said: "Everyone from mom-and-pop stores to Fortune 500 companies are registering their .INFO Web addresses,... The response has been absolutely global, as we had expected with this new unrestricted and intuitive domain." Although thousands of good .info domain names have already been taken, because it is a new top level domain there are still thousands more waiting to be registered.
